Community engagement and design showcase

Thank you to all of you who attended our Working Group meeting in February at Civic Office, Bexleyheath.

A number of you have requested copies of the project presentation which is now available on-line. Please visit and click the link under ‘downloads and resources’ for the Working Group Meeting Presentation 13 February 2014.

Our presentation is a Prezi which is an interactive tool that allows you to forward, reverse and zoom. Please also see the attached notes from our break out group discussions from the same meeting.

As many of you may be aware – we have been working with Anna Jones of Creative Junction in a programme of community engagement to support the continued designing of many elements of the Lesnes Masterplan. The engagement programme is on-going at the moment and includes a variety of sessions and opportunities for local groups to work with Creative Junction and our design team landscape architects Mei Loci.

Discovery Day at Lesnes Abbey Woods, Tuesday 15 April 11am – 3pm

As part of the engagement programme Creative Junction will be meeting with groups during the Easter holiday. The event, which features activities with North West Kent Countryside Partnership will be an opportunity for participants to be inspired by Lesnes and explore the park.

Please contact Anna Jones (, 01753 470324 if you would like a group you work with to attend.

Following this session the groups will continue their involvement through workshops leading to enhanced and more detailed designs from Mei Loci.

Sharing Showcase, Thursday 15 May 3.30 – 6pm

Your are invited to attend a sharing of the updated designs from the community engagement programme at St Augustine’s Children’s Centre on 15 May (3.30 – 6pm). The Sharing Showcase is a chance for those who have been involved in the community engagement programme to see the outcomes of their contributions and how plans have progressed. This is an informal event, you may arrive at any time.

It is also an opportunity to meet the designers at Mei Loci and the architect developing plans for the new visitor hub building – Lesnes Lodge. You will be able to offer feedback directly to those involved in the scheme and about the designs presented.
